Cameroon Tests Advanced Road Technology:
The Ministry of Public Works tested a Ministry groundbreaking method in the central region to turn dirt roads into durable paved surfaces without using asphalt or concrete.
Technology:
Utilizes special binders to treat soil on-site, produce road base materials, or even recycle old roads through cold in-place
processing.
Cost-Effectiveness: Roads built with Soil Stabilization technology are significantly cheaper than asphalt or concrete roads, leveraging industrial by-products without requiring specialized preparation.
Successful Pilot Project: A 9-km test section was constructed.
Scalability Potential: If the test demonstrates the expected durability section and quality, the project will be expanded to more roads across Cameroon.
